Inca participates in a national meeting on the figure of the police tutor
‘The Inca Police Tutor Unit carries out essential work in our city and has become a key figure. We are very happy to contribute to making this type of agent and the work they do daily known at a national level. Our commitment is to have a security force that is very close to the citizens, including young people,’ said the Councillor for Public Safety, Antonia Triguero, who was also present at the conference.
Manel Crespí, an officer of the Inca Local Police, was responsible for giving the first talk of the day, together with Rafel Covas, president of IDAT. During his talk, Crespí highlighted the important work carried out by police mentors: ‘The police mentor does not work alone independently, this is not the key to success. It is a joint task. Their success depends on their ability to act jointly and in synergy with schools, families, social services, local police colleagues, state security forces, sports clubs, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and any other actor involved or likely to be involved in the lives of young people. This coordination ensures that responses are comprehensive and focused on the real needs of minors’.
In addition, during the event, the book ‘The Invisible Work of Guardianship Agents’ was also presented. This manual is published annually and brings together experiences and articles related to the functions and work of guardians in Spanish municipalities.
