Hello! Thank you very much for accepting this interview, Raquel Pérez Cuenca. To begin with, can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your work?
Hello! My name is Raquel Pérez Cuenca, and I facilitate art and craft workshops focused on free expression. My work consists of guiding people to explore their creativity as a form of stimulation, fun, and self-knowledge. Through these activities, we work on aspects such as psychomotor skills, the expression of emotions, and the reinforcement of self-esteem.

Raquel Pérez Cuenca. Type of workshops.
What motivated you, Raquel Pérez Cuenca, to dedicate yourself to this type of workshop?
I have always been passionate about art and believe in its ability to transform lives. I began to notice how, when doing artistic activities, people felt more relaxed, connected with their emotions and discovered new skills. This inspired me to create a space where they could experience all of this and benefit on a personal level.
Raquel Pérez Cuenca. Type of activities
What kind of activities does Raquel Pérez Cuenca do in your workshops?
We do a bit of everything: painting, collage, clay modelling, mandala making, art journaling, creative recycling and more. The important thing is that the activities are accessible, and inclusive and allow participants to express themselves without judgement. I also integrate group dynamics that encourage collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
Raquel Pérez Cuenca. Benefits of the workshops
In Raquel Pérez Cuenca’s opinion, what are the benefits of these workshops for the people who take part?
There are many. For example, working with the hands improves fine motor skills and coordination. On an emotional level, art is a way of expressing feelings that sometimes we don’t know how to verbalise. This helps to release tensions, to get to know themselves better and to reinforce self-esteem by seeing what they are capable of creating. In addition, the atmosphere of the workshops promotes socialisation and a sense of community, which is especially important for those who feel isolated.
Is there any particular group that benefits most from these workshops, in Raquel Pérez Cuenca’s opinion?
They are useful for people of all ages. Children, for example, develop motor and creative skills while they play. Adults find a space to disconnect from stress and reconnect with themselves. And for older adults, these activities not only stimulate memory and motor skills but also help them feel active and valued.
How does art help the expression of emotions, in Raquel Pérez Cuenca’s opinion?
Art is a universal language that does not require words. Sometimes people do not know how to express what they feel or are not even aware of their emotions. Through colour, form and materials, they can express what is inside them, whether it is joy, sadness, fear or hope. It is a very liberating and healing process.
Raquel Pérez Cuenca. Message
What message would Raquel Pérez Cuenca give to people who think they are not good at arts or crafts?
I would tell them that art is not about getting it ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, but about enjoying the process. You don’t need to be a professional artist to benefit from creativity. The important thing is to allow yourself to explore and express yourself without worrying about the result.
