The Servei de Salut and the union representatives of the workers of the entity Gestión Sanitaria y Asistencial de las Islas Baleares (GSAIB), which manages emergency and scheduled medical transport on the islands, have reached an agreement to improve the working conditions and remuneration of its staff. Some of these have been pending since 2023.

Specifically, the parties have reached an agreement on the constitution of a technical committee, with the participation of the social partners, in which the Servei de Salut itself and the Directorate General of Public Function will collaborate, to establish the criteria for the classification of all the company’s staff, the first session of which took place this morning, and which will work throughout the first quarter of 2025.

The Servei and the unions have also agreed to complete the regularisation of the salaries of scheduled transport staff during the first months of 2025, for concepts such as the CPI or the excess working hours of some of the workers.

Finally, among other agreements, the parties have agreed to draw up a protocol for transferring patients to health centres, the aim of which is to improve the quality of the service and the working conditions of the professionals.

The social partners have announced the end of the mobilisations and stoppages called for the Christmas period, intending to open a period of dialogue with the Administration that will allow new agreements to be reached for the benefit of workers in the urgent and programmed health transport sector.
