This infrastructure will have 120 residential places and the total budget will be 17.6 million between the Regional Ministry’s own funds and European funds.
The Regional Ministry of Families and Social Affairs has put out to tender the works for the Son Dureta long-term care centre in Palma for 6,828,911.68 euros (VAT included). Interested companies may submit their project by 27 January 2025 at the latest (see tender).

The Regional Ministry of Families and Social Affairs calls for tenders for 6.8 million euros for work on the Son Dureta residence for dependent elderly people
The works were due to begin in 2022, but the Government cancelled the contract last July due to the insolvency of the concessionaire, Levantina, Ingeniería y Construcción (LIC). The works are scheduled to begin next spring and are expected to last an estimated 12 months. At present, 38.3 % of the work remains to be carried out.
The project, drawn up by MIBA Architects SLP, envisages a built surface area of 5,910,000 m2 distributed over three floors. Once completed, this infrastructure will have 120 residential places, with 96 single rooms and 12 double rooms. The total estimated cost of the works is 17,664,156 euros, with funds from the Regional Ministry and European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
