The IBAVI has signed the purchase of 10 homes located in various municipalities in Mallorca (Palma, Inca, Felanitx and Porreres) from the Sociedad de Gestión de Activos procedentes de la Reestructuración Bancaria SA (SAREB), for an amount of almost 1.4 million euros, to use these homes for social renting.

These are 10 homes, with between 2 and 3 bedrooms, with a built area of between 40 and 90 square metres, of which 6 are in Palma, 2 in Inca, 1 in Felanitx and 1 in Porreres. At the moment, the properties are rented. However, now that they are owned by the Institute, the particular situation of each tenant has to be evaluated.

The Consell de Govern, using an agreement approved last Friday, authorised the IBAVI to initiate the expenditure file for the purchase of these 10 properties, which were part of the old collaboration agreement with SAREB for the transfer of properties to the IBAVI.

This purchase was made free of charges, and encumbrances and is up to date with the payment of taxes and community expenses. The agreement for the termination of the old agreement includes the return to SAREB of a further 15 dwellings. The reason for this is that the properties are in a very poor state of repair and, of the total, 13 have been illegally occupied since the beginning of the agreement signed in 2015.

As for the 10 dwellings that have become the property of the IBAVI, the direct acquisition of these properties by the institute from SAREB has been agreed upon for 1,389,000 euros (excluding taxes).
