For yet another year, Inca Town Council has published the Environment calendar with the winning images from the photography competition, which this year was themed on the environment and landscape of the capital of El Raiguer. After five editions, this initiative has been consolidated with record participation. ‘This contest was created to promote appreciation for nature and, above all, citizen participation in activities related to the environment. We are therefore very pleased with the good results we are obtaining year after year. Each year more and more people are encouraged to participate and we receive works of high quality’, explains Helena Cayetano, the councillor for the environment.

Thus, a total of 116 images from 47 participants were submitted to this year’s photographic competition, 10% more than last year. All the photographs that make up the 2025 almanac were taken in the municipality of Inca and are related to the environment and landscape of Inca. They could be snapshots of the green spaces, squares and parks where the fauna, flora and human community coexist with the passing of the seasons and the social and environmental value of these places in the municipality, rural areas, agriculture and livestock farming, etc.

Of all the images received, the jury has awarded 13 photographs that make up the Inca Environment calendar, one to illustrate each month and another for the cover. The name of the author and a descriptive phrase appear on each image. Those selected receive a prize of 100 euros, as well as some copies of the calendar.

In addition, the calendar is marked in green on the days of celebrations and commemorations in the field of environmental protection, to promote public awareness and enhance appreciation for nature.

The almanac has been distributed among the participants in the competition and institutions in the municipality. In addition, anyone in Inca who is interested can pick up a copy at the Environment Department of the Town Hall.
