The jury of the XXII Premi Josep Vivó de glosa escrita already has its verdict

The 2025 Josep Vivó Prize jury has met to issue its verdict, which will be revealed on 16th January at the Convent de Sant Diego.

The jury of the XXII Premi Josep Vivó de glosa escrita (22nd Josep Vivó Prize for written glosses), organised by the Department of Culture, Education, Youth and Sports of the Consell Insular de Menorca, has met this week to safeguard and disseminate this form of Menorcan glosa.

The jury for this year’s competition was made up of Joan Pons Torres, Councillor of Culture, Education, Youth and Sports, president of the jury; Tiago Reurer, island director of Education, Culture and Heritage, vice-president, and the following members: three people linked to or specialising in Menorcan language and culture, proposed by the councillor, who were Sili Pons Sabater, Jaume Gomila Saura and Conchi Salas Pons; and by Vicenç Marí Catchot, representative of the association Soca de Mots; Pere Gomila Bassa, representative of the Language and Literature Section of the Instituto Menorquín de Estudios; Miquel Marquès Sintes, representative of the Comisión Asesora del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de Menorca, and Borja Moll Juan, winner of the prize in the previous edition. Eva Florit Pons, a Consell de Menorca’s Language Service technician, acted as secretary.

The jury of the XXII Premi Josep Vivó de glosa escrita already has its verdict

The jury has already issued its decision, which will be announced during the Sant Antoni events, during the traditional Glosat, which will take place next Thursday, January 16th, at 7 p.m., in the auditorium of the Convent de Sant Diego, in Alaior.

The prize money in the general category is €2,000. The school category, consists of vouchers to exchange for educational material and a performance by one of the groups included in the catalogue of Menorca, Arts, Music and Theatre for the school to which the winners belong.
