Chuchito Valdés, son of the legendary Chucho Valdés and grandson of the great Bebo Valdés, successfully continues a family legacy that is synonymous with musical excellence and a pioneer in the fusion of jazz with Afro-Cuban roots. His visit to the CSMIB has been a unique opportunity for the students, who have highlighted the inspiration of learning from an international reference of this magnitude.

On this occasion, Chuchito Valdés performed in trio format, accompanied by Joan Roca on double bass and Pep Aspas on drums, two prominent alumni of the first graduating class of jazz at the CSMIB. This collaboration has symbolised the perfect link between generations, bringing together the family legacy of Valdés with the talent trained at the Conservatory.

Chuchito Valdés’ visit to the CSMIB has not only been an enriching experience for the students but also an event that consolidates the Conservatory as a meeting place between world-renowned figures and the new generations of musicians.

The CSMIB, with the support of the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities, thus reaffirms its commitment to excellence and the development of musical talent in the Balearic Islands.
