The Mallorcan sportswoman has recently revalidated her title in the air rifle category.

The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, accompanied by the second vice-president and councillor of the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, and the island director of Sports, Toni Prats, received the Mallorcan sportswoman Maria Antònia Sastre this morning in the audience room of the Palau del Consell, who has recently retained the title of Spanish senior Olympic shooting champion in the air carbine modality.

She won her second consecutive gold medal with her triumph in the national championship in Granada last December. In this way, Sastre has consolidated herself as one of the great sportswomen of Olympic shooting in our country.

During the reception, President Galmés presented the Mallorcan sportswoman with a siurelll. They congratulated her on her ‘commitment, effort and success’ in a sporting discipline that ‘continues to gain followers on our island’. ‘Maria Antònia is a clear example of continuous work, sacrifice and self-improvement. Her triumph is a source of pride for all Mallorcans and a reflection of the talent we have in our land,’ said the president of the Consell de Mallorca.

For her part, Maria Antònia Sastre thanked the Consell de Mallorca for its support and expressed her satisfaction at representing Mallorca and Spain in such a demanding and technical discipline as Olympic shooting.
