The number of affiliates in seasonally adjusted terms has grown by more than 35,000 in the last two fortnights.
On 15 January, the Social Security registered 21,363,168 registered Social Security affiliates, in seasonally adjusted terms. Whereas, in the original series, the figure stands at 21,097,089 registered.

Social Security gained more than 503,000 in seasonally adjusted terms in the last year
If we discount seasonality and the calendar effect, 503,450 jobs have been created since the beginning of 2024, a figure in line with pre-pandemic levels to stand at 21,363,168, with an increase of more than 35,000 people in the last two fortnights.
With data available up to 15 January, total membership has increased by more than half a million people (520,232) in the adjusted series since December 2023, and by more than 2 million since before the start of the pandemic.
The Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, stresses that: ‘The first data we have in 2025 show that, in mid-January, there are more than 503,000 more members than a year ago’.
